Event Details

Registration is closed for this event
Welcome to Module 6 - Heat Pumps, the second practical module of the Retrofit Skills Level 2 course.

In this session:

  • Heating types
  • Comparison of heat pumps to other heating types
  • Homeowner’s experience during heat pump retrofit
  • Heat pump components
  • Assessment

In this module, our trainer, Toby Carter, will explain the differences between gas boilers, electric heating, and heat pumps, talk through how heat pumps work and compare efficiencies with traditional heating systems. After this, you’ll learn about considerations for a homeowner when changing from a gas boiler to a heat pump, and review the individual components of a monobloc heat pump. With a heat pump in action during the session, the group will discuss preparatory works and aftercare requirements when a heat pump is installed in a home including how to find a heat pump engineer.

For this module, the assessment is entirely online and consists of multiple-choice questions.

The online assessment will need to be finished before this module can be considered complete.
