Twilight Talks
The Green Register's early evening talks supported by Ecomerchant: together promoting ethical, healthy sustainable building materials.
On the second Monday of each month The Green Register brings you our Twilight Talks - a relaxed and informal string of events on sustainable building matters to complement our regular training topics.
Each one-hour event is FREE of charge and features short talks from one or more speakers. With Q&A and discussion sessions throughout, everyone is invited to be part of the conversation. We hold Twilight talks at 5-6pm, in the sweet spot between work and dinner – so join us to nourish the mind before replenishing the body!
Engaging Young People in the Net Zero Transition
We'd all like to get the next generation interested in net-zero - but what's the hook to bring them in? Is it high quality jobs? Shiny renewable technology? Or a moral imperative to save the Earth from climate catastrophe?
Join speaker Roy Kareem for this Twilight Talk as he makes a case for all the above, but asks that we start with the person, the individual, and work outwards from there.
Roy will introduce concepts around the values and strengths-based work he’s done at the intersection of young people and net-zero thus far, along with a new framework he’s been recently working with known as the Inner Development Goals.
How can the construction industry use these approaches to encourage young people towards careers? Is the much talked about ‘green economy’ attractive to young people, and what opportunities are there for a ‘green’ job in construction?
