Understanding Biodiversity Net Gain: Part 2 – Application (Online)

Event Details

Join us for this updated 2-part live online training series on the latest updates to Biodiversity Net Gain mandatory requirements covering what you need to do for your projects to comply.

About the session

Biodiversity Net Gain is development that leaves biodiversity in a better state than before. Biodiversity Net Gain mandatory requirements came into force in 2024, meaning all development schemes need to deliver a mandatory 10% biodiversity net
gain to be maintained for at least 30 years.

Recent changes to the requirements will come into force in July 2026 with further updates later in the year. In this online training session, Kalia Symeonidou of Eight Versa will explain how to compile simple Biodiversity Net Gain assessments; using case studies and the legislation forms to walk learners through the process.

Learning outcomes:

  • What the current planning policies and legislation are
  • What is a biodiversity metric and how Biodiversity Net Gain is measured
  • A guide to improving Biodiversity Net Gain
  • How to integrate Biodiversity Net Gain into your Net Zero strategy

Who is the session for:

For anyone involved in projects requiring BNG assessment, whether using the statutory or small site metric. Those wanting to understand the policy; outlining the two metrics, their principles, onsite v. offsite compensation, and upcoming changes to the legislation.

This is part 1 in a two-part series. Book onto Understanding Biodiversity Net Gain Requirements: Part 1 - Policy to get 10% off your booking fee.
