ABOUT THE TRAINERS

Eric Fewster

Eric is a Passivhaus Consultant, a Chartered Water and Environmental Manager and Chartered Environmentalist. For the past 20 years, his ‘day job’ mostly involved water supply & sanitation in low-income countries during which time he helped to co-found BushProof, an award-winning business based in Madagascar. After gaining experience through carrying out a deep retrofit on his own house between 2008-2010, he decided to retrain as a Passivhaus Consultant in order to help other homeowners struggling to do the same – this he does through his business ColdProof, which offers energy analysis, thermal bridge modelling, costing and project management.

Eric is passionate about the need for retrofit in the UK – he knows that it’s a huge challenge with seemingly insurmountable obstacles, but knows that despite this it must happen nevertheless! This has been his motivation for helping Carbonlite to develop their Passivhaus Tradesperson course, which is an essential tool for training up building contractors in low energy construction.

Will South

Will is an Engineer, Passivhaus Designer and Passivhaus Certifier. He is a founding member of Cocreate Consulting and works for Etude as a consultant Engineer.

Will is interested in making buildings better through careful design, and practical application. His experience ranges from design detail drawing to installing MVHR ventilation systems to Passivhaus Certification assessment.
