Twilight Talks

The Green Register's early evening talks supported by Ecomerchant: together promoting ethical, healthy sustainable building materials

On the second Monday of each month The Green Register brings you our Twilight Talks - a relaxed and informal string of events on sustainable building matters to complement our regular training topics.

Each one-hour event is FREE of charge and features short talks from one or more speakers. With Q&A and discussion sessions throughout, everyone is invited to be part of the conversation. We hold Twilight talks at 5-6pm, in the sweet spot between work and dinner – so join us to nourish the mind before replenishing the body!

Walking on Recycled Glass

A versatile and circular construction material, recycled foam glass aggregate is ideal for the retrofit of historic buildings or as a foundation for new build construction. Cavity wall fill, flue insulation and floor slabs are just some of its many uses.

Featuring high compressive strength and insulative properties, alongside the ability to manage moisture and resist thermal changes, degradation and pests, Geocell is one company that makes products from post-consumer recycled glass to multi-task on a project.

We welcome Peter Rollinson of sustainable building material specialists, Mike Wye, to offer his insights on using foam glass in your own projects.

About the Speaker

Peter Rollinson is a Sustainable Insulation Specialist at Mike Wye Ltd , where he provides in-depth technical advice for the retrofit of historic buildings and the development of modern structures; focusing on the use of sustainable materials and natural fibre insulation to create robust, reduced carbon homes that are healthy for the environment and the occupants alike.
