Each one-hour event is FREE of charge and features short talks from one or more speakers. With Q&A and discussion sessions throughout, everyone is invited to be part of the conversation. We hold Twilight talks at 5-6pm, in the sweet spot between work and dinner – so join us to nourish the mind before replenishing the body!
Empowering Women in Sustainable Construction
What are the challenges in attracting, training and retaining women working in sustainable construction and what activities need to be undertaken to really address the missing pieces?
In this Twilight Talk, Leah Robson and Ellora Coupe will explore the needs and challenges faced by professional women in the sustainable construction industry.
Building on the foundation of her business, Leah has started an in-house training scheme at Your Energy Your Way, offering work and training to under-represented groups in the industry. She hopes this will help move the construction industry towards better gender equality, strengthening the move towards cleaner energy.
Ellora recently launched Her Retrofit Space, an innovative platform, of which Leah is a member, to support professional women through the need to solve the many challenges around domestic retrofit as a collective.
The subsequent ability to solve retrofit challenges with women homeowners at the heart increases the likelihood of business and career success for professional women across the retrofit industry.
