Known as thermal bypass, air movement across, within and behind insulation increases
heat loss, causes discomfort and enables mould growth.
Discover how this unregulated, little known phenomenon has the potential to cause:
- 10x more heat loss than predicted (leading to larger bills and CO2 emissions)
- drafts and thermal discomfort
- mould growth
- burst pipes and leaks
- fire and smoke risks
About this Workshop
Join author Mark Siddall for a live online workshop which explores how you can avoid
various types of uncontrolled air movement and arm yourself with the correct knowledge
and skills so that you can avoid failures in design and construction, reduce risks and
liabilities, and deliver buildings that perform as predicted.
This workshop will explore how thermal bypass risks can be addressed, and performance
gaps avoided, by adopting good design and construction practices. In the workshop Mark,
Principal at Mark Siddall Consulting, will:
- review existing knowledge and understanding about the impact of thermal bypass,
- showcase practical examples of best practice, and
- give you the chance to hone your skills so that you can eliminate thermal bypass risks
Come Prepared
It is recommended that attendees review the Thermal Bypass paper before attending the
event so that they have the opportunity to become more informed before the event and
