About the series
Last year, The Green Register launched our new qualification Retrofit Skills Level 2, a hybrid qualification providing foundational training for individuals and businesses looking to move into retrofit construction. We're excited to open up the practical modules for anyone to attend, providing hands-on experience to a range of skills crucial to retrofit construction.
These sessions can be attended as stand-alone events, or book onto the full series to receive a 10% discount. If you want to book onto Retrofit Skills after attending one of the practical modules, you can claim back the event rates from your Retrofit Skills registration fee!
About the event
Ben East – builder, ventilation expert and trainer, will use his experience and knowledge of the practical applications of building physics principles and equipment to lead a practical session where you will get to grips with ventilation suitable for domestic retrofit.
Ventilation is one of the three core principles of retrofit, alongside insulation and heating; and understanding these issues that are present in most UK homes and how to go about addressing them are key to successful retrofit.
The training will explore the various reasons why ventilation is important, different types of ventilation system and which are appropriate for different properties, the associated works required, and the maintenance of ventilation systems to keep them functioning for residents.
You will have the opportunity to see various types of ventilation system equipment alongside associated controls and ductwork, understanding the space they require, and to undertake a simple duct installation task to familiarise yourself with the materials.
The trainer, and host The Green Register will be on hand to answer questions and discuss the issues throughout, so you will leave well informed to tackle your next retrofit project.
