About this course
Biodiversity Net Gain is development that leaves biodiversity in a better state than before. Biodiversity Net Gain mandatory requirements came into force in 2024. All development schemes now must deliver a mandatory 10% biodiversity net gain to be maintained for at least 30 years.
In this online training session, Kalia Symeonidou of Eight Versa will fully explain the implications of Biodiversity Net Gain requirements, including how to integrate BNG into development plans to avoid costly mistakes and achieve planning permission.
Learning outcomes:
- What the current planning policies and legislation are
- What is a biodiversity metric and how Biodiversity Net Gain is measured
- A guide to improving Biodiversity Net Gain
- How to integrate Biodiversity Net Gain into your Net Zero strategy
ARB and RIBA Mandatory CPD Requirements
As of January 2024, all architects on the UK Register are required by the Architects Registration Board (ARB) to record and confirm participation in CPD to maintain registration. ARB’s CPD scheme is activity-based and is focused on learning outcomes. You can find out more about ARB’s CPD requirements here.
This course relates to environmental sustainability, which is one of the mandatory topics for the 2025 ARB scheme.
View or download this checklist which shows in more detail how attendance on this course can help you meet these requirements.
