RISE Design Studio is an award-winning architecture practice founded in 2011 and led by Directors Sean Ronnie Hill and Imran Jahn. Based in London with a growing studio in Barcelona, RISE delivers low-energy, low-carbon projects across residential, commercial, and cultural/community sectors. Every commission begins with a deep reading of site and brief, using PHPP-led design thinking and digital “virtual twins” to de-risk construction and minimise on-site change.
Specialisms include Passivhaus and EnerPHit retrofits, AECB CarbonLite retrofits, carefully detailed fabric-first envelopes, and integrated building services such as MVHR, air-source heat pumps and solar PV. The team prioritises materials with low embodied carbon and circular potential, collaborates with landscape designers to improve biodiversity, and considers whole-life carbon and post-occupancy performance from the outset. Recent work ranges from community projects like The Lexi Cinema and Elmwood Lawn Tennis Club to one-off homes and commercial interiors.
RISE’s aim is simple: deliver beautiful, durable buildings that radically reduce energy demand, enhance comfort and health, and prove that sustainable architecture is good architecture—across the UK and Spain.
