On the second Monday of each month The Green Register brings you our Twilight Talks - a relaxed and informal string of events on sustainable building matters to complement our regular training topics.

Each one-hour event is FREE of charge and features short talks from one or more speakers. With Q&A and discussion sessions throughout, everyone is invited to be part of the conversation. We hold Twilight talks at 5-6pm, in the sweet spot between work and dinner – so join us to nourish the mind before replenishing the body!

Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA) - an innovative, sustainable method of construction

The concept of modern methods of construction (MMC) has been around for a while now and there are various construction types that follow this approach. 
MMC involves designing and constructing sustainable buildings by minimising waste, mitigating risk and delivering cost effective solutions on time.
 
Adedayo Shittu-Balogun, architect and Director of Projects at Eurban - leading specialists in mass timber buildings - will talk about how the company, through the use of DfMA principles, is able to optimise the delivery of more efficient and sustainable buildings. 
 
Adedayo will use a number of case studies including the recent 2022 RIBA Stirling Prize Winner, New Library for Magdalene College Cambridge to illustrate how effective this type of construction can be.
