Natural insulation products and systems are beginning to move from the margins of UK construction into more widespread use. But what are the benefits?

The ASBP has developed an introductory CPD containing 2 hours of core curriculum content to provide architects and specifiers with knowledge of the wide range of products and systems available on the market.

You will gain an understanding of designing with natural fibre insulation, health, safety and sustainability aspects and how natural fibre insulation can greatly enhance the performance of buildings.

Interestingly, in this week of publishing manifestos, the Conservative Party’s website new post on Monday was on Fixing the Broken Housing Market. With an emboldened pledge that they will do this, the favourites to win June 8th’s election, unsurprisingly end the piece using a construction metaphor - that prime minister is determined to build a better Britain.

Crawley Borough Council’s first Passivhaus development, designed by Green Register members Accredited Passivhaus Design, has been completed and certified to the Passivhaus Standard.

Gales Place in Three Bridges provides 13 new affordable homes - six flats and seven houses - for local residents. Each property is so thermally efficient that a radiator and two towel rails will heat it even in mid-winter.

Insulation for the Nation was not a new Musical Youth (would they still go by that name?) song, but an excellent thirty minute look at the real issues the UK faces to reduce the CO2 emissions from its homes broadcast on Radio 4’s Costing the Earth series this week.
