The Guardian yesterday reported that renewable energy for last year has beaten global records, with an upsurge in new wind, solar and hydro plants and capacity.

Some of the facts:

• Around 147 Gigawatts of renewable electricity came online in 2015 – this is the biggest ever annual increase.

• Clean energy investment increased to £198bn – 56% of this being solar energy, and 38 % wind power.

• More than twice as much money was spent on renewables than on coal and gas-fired generation.

• The UK saw a 25% rise in renewable energy investments last year.

Let’s hope to see continued success for 2016!
