The Green Register's Lucy Pedler is an Earth Champion!

Congratulations to our very own Lucy Pedler, who brought home an Earth Champions award from Monday night's awards ceremony.

She won the award in the Built Environment category for being “an Outstanding Earth Champion for their valuable contribution to the built environment of the Bristol Region”.

Lucy said “I am so delighted that The Green Register's work has been recognised by the Earth Champions Foundation. The Outstanding Earth Champion award is of particular significance as we are celebrating our 15th anniversary this year and the award just reinforces that what we do is important and affects real change in the construction industry”.

What is an Earth Champion? The Earth Champions Foundation says “These are individuals (of any age group) and organisations who dare to be different, inventive and courageous. They are doing positive work for our environment and wellbeing, often without recognition or reward.” Well, I can’t think of a better way to describe Lucy and the work of The Green Register!

Fiona Mathews, Founder and CEO of Earth Champions Foundation, said "We are delighted that the communities of Bristol and Bath nominated 127 local people and organizations for Earth Champions Awards. Of this total we celebrated 75 valued Earth Champions, 36 of whom are Outstanding Earth Champions across the 8 categories.”

Fiona continues “It was incredibly inspiring and moving to hear their journeys and we are looking forward to working with them as a group, an alumni of Earth Champions. We invite the public to come and hear their stories at the 'Essence Talks' on the 15th of June at 7pm at the Arnolfini."

Lucy, The Green Register’s Outstanding Earth Champion, will be speaking alongside the other Earth Champions at the 'Essence Talks' celebration on the 15th of June at 7pm at the Arnolfini.
