Whilst there continues to be VAT inequality between new build and renovation work, this talk will help you understand which elements of a retrofit can be zero rated – so saving costs in your projects.
Speaker Tim Buss will cover the basic VAT liabilities in the construction industry and the history of changes to the VAT rules regarding the installation of energy saving materials.
There will be particular focus on projects that include both zero rated installations and standard rated work such as extensions and repairs.
Relevant VAT Tribunal and Court decisions will be discussed and Tim will give an update on the representations made to HMRC.
Plenty of time will be available for attendees to ask questions on the topic.
