Totterdown New-Build: Site Visit to Timber Frame New Build Home Using Passivhaus Principles (Bristol)

Event Details

Join us for a site visit to a new build timber frame, upside-down three bedroom house in a tight Bristolian location, built to passive house principles by Green Register Members Earthwise Construction.

About the event

Book now for this rare opportunity to visit an interesting timber frame new build in a tight location at the end of a Victorian terrace in Bristol. Green Register Member and experienced trainer, Ben East of Earthwise Construction, will be joined by architect Taus Larsen as they guide us through the design and build process.

The timber frame is being constructed using timber I joists, glue laminated beams and specialist fixings. The building will feature:

  • triple glazing
  • MVHR
  • air source heat pump
  • solar P.V
  • battery storage
  • a living green roof

The site is at the end of an existing terrace of houses in Totterdown, Bristol, which borders the railway and has the extreme challenge of no vehicle access. This location has influenced the design throughout the process.

Visitors will be able to see the build in progress, with the timber frame structure complete, the air barrier and hemp and wood fibre insulation, and windows being installed.

Light refreshments will be made available.
