Ethos: Pentan Architects is an award-winning architectural design practice based in Cardiff. We care passionately about the happiness of those who will inhabit our buildings, and this motivates us to deliver thoughtfully designed and well-crafted environments to enhance life and place. Amongst the first signatories of the Placemaking Wales Charter and with a specialism in sustainable residential architecture, we are building communities not just new homes. Specialism: The practice has secured a reputation and position at the forefront of sustainable, MMC, and low carbon design in Wales. With in-house Passivhaus designers, SAP, and embodied carbon assessors we have the expertise to test and refine our designs as a project progresses, not as an afterthought, ensuring that the highest aspirations are realized. Practice: All of our 28 employees are shareholders in the practice. We have a 50 / 50 split of male and female staff, and strongly support our inclusive, welcoming approach to work and the workplace. Clients: Formed from a progressive housing association some 25 years ago, the practice delivers exemplary service to many of Wales’s housing associations and local authorities.
