This training session is primarily open to builders / contractors who want to become Futureproof Associate Builders, going on to provide on-site training to other builders, but there are a limited number of places available for other professionals. Book now to secure your place!

To get the best from building services - and to ensure that they work at optimum efficiency - it is essential that heating, controls and ventilation systems are designed to work together.

For example, heat pumps installations are becoming increasingly common but without good design input, the system may well operate under par and may use much more energy than is necessary.

Rob Edwardes, director of GR Edwardes - Electrical, Plumbing and Renewable Energy contractors - will explain that the goal is not about ‘quick wins’ but to reduce overall kWhr consumption.

This training session runs 11.15 - 13.15 followed by Q&A and lunch at 13.15 for those who wish to stay and ask questions.

About the session

Rob’s presentation will focus on the practical application of building systems and will cover the following topics:

  • heating controls
  • renewable energy technologies
  • underfloor (and overfloor for retrofiits) heating
  • electrical controls
  • heat emitters (radiators, fan convectors etc)
  • heat pumps
  • ventilation

Delegates will learn the basics of how to install systems that are truly integrated, that work together and that result in the most sustainable outcome.

Session runs 11.15 - 13.15, then there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions about specific systems in a Q&A session over lunch at 13.15.
