Passivhaus Site Visit Series 2019: Event 1 - Limited places available - book now!

Following on from 2018's outstanding series of six events - all rated as either "excellent" or "very good" by delegates - we are partnering again this year with Green Register members Bow Tie Construction for an exciting series of talks and tours of their latest Passivhaus and EnerPhit projects.

A range of site visits throughout 2019 will showcase current projects in their most interesting stage of construction, sharing both theory and practical knowledge, on-site experience and in-progress projects.

Rylett Crescent Low Energy Retrofit

About the project

A 4 bedroom terraced house being designed using EnerPHit principles. This project in Stamford Brook is a total retrofit and refurbishment in a conservation area with sash windows at the front elevation. A large basement is also being added. Due to planning constraints internal insulation is being fitted to the front elevation and external to the rear. A variety of insulation materials and thermal isolation techniques are being employed.

Project designers are bere:architects who are well-known Passivhaus architects and Justin Bere will be speaking and on hand to answer questions as part of the project team at this event.

At the time of the visit the project will be at or close to 1st fix with windows fitted.

About the visit

The workshop will be led by:

  • Bow Tie Construction Director - Rafael Delimata
  • Project Manager - Szymon Zagorski
  • Business Development Manager and Certified Passivhaus consultant – Hagop Heath-Matossian
  • Architect - Justin Bere of bere:architects

The workshop will start with a 1-hour walking tour around the property during which notable features will be pointed out and discussed. Delegates will have the opportunity to ask questions on construction details and materials throughout the tour.

This will be followed by approximately 1 hour of presentations from the workshop leaders who will show drawings and photos of the construction process.

Timings, travel and PPE

  • Meet at 16:00 with event running 16:00-18:00.
  • We request that delegates use public transport or bicycles to access all London sites as parking is always limited and we do not want to upset neighbours.
  • Should you drive, finding parking and its related costs are your own responsibility.
  • Please note: this is still a building site so delegates are advised to wear appropriate clothing and footwear.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the nature of construction, the date of site visits may change if build schedules slip or the site is unsafe for visitors on planned dates. Please do not book non-refundable travel until joining instructions are confirmed. As much notice as possible will be given if dates do change.

Site Visit Series: This event is part of the TGR/Bow Tie Construction 2019 Passivhaus Site visit series - keep an eye out for more dates coming soon!
