Passivhaus Series: 1. Passivhaus Fundamentals - Bristol
The Green Register and AECB CarbonLite are pleased to be working together to provide four half-day technical sessions in Bristol on the Passivhaus principles.
Although the full Passivhaus training is a fantastic way to gain an in depth understanding of all aspects of Passivhaus design, some construction professionals may not have the time or resources to be able to attend the typical Passivhaus two week course.
These afternoon sessions offer insight into all the main principles i.e. what makes a good low energy, comfortable building based on the Passivhaus standard. The training is ideal for architects and other design professionals as the focus in these courses is on design principles.
Each of the four sessions will be run by experts in the field:
Event One: Passivhaus Fundamentals, Peter Warm
Pete will provide an introduction to Passivhaus including an overview of construction, airtightness, thermal bridging and basic services options. Pete will also discuss designing to avoid over-heating.
About the speaker:
Peter Warm is a Chartered Energy Conservation Engineer with a strong interest in insulation. He’s built a few houses, and lived in some of them. Currently, Peter is a director in WARM: Low Energy Building Practice in Plymouth. This practice, set up with his daughter Sally Godber, now focusses almost entirely on Passivhaus design. He is one of the Passivhaus Institut’s UK certifiers.
