About the event.png)
Dovetail are excited to invite you to a tour of their latest timber frame new build project in Long Ashton. This is a tour of a live site; a rare chance to see behind the scenes of a home designed and built with sustainability, innovation and craftsmanship at its core.
Dovetail will be demonstrating their low-cost, high-performance wall build-up and air tightness strategies that shape a low energy approach, and complement the sustainable technologies used; including Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP), Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) and Solar Photovoltaics (PV).
Dovetail will also discuss their innovative approach to collaborative contracting, which is helping to shape the future of construction. Attendees will also get a rare feel for ‘upside down living’ on a sloping site, along with learning about how the challenging groundworks were tackled.
Dovetail look forward to sharing the products, techniques and problem solving that bring this project together. This event is perfect for architects and designers, self-builders and anyone passionate about better building.
Spaces are limited so sign up early to avoid disappointment.

About the Speakers
Will Hallett, Director, Dovetail Design & Build
Architecture and building have shaped Will’s life from the beginning. With an architect father, an artist mother, and a childhood spent in a rambling, half-renovated house, the world of building and creativity felt natural to him. After school he went straight into construction, discovering a genuine love for the craft. Over the years he worked for others and then for himself, eventually building his own company. Today, Dovetail is where he brings together his experience, creativity, and everything he’s learned over three decades in the industry.
Will has extensive experience in contracting and sustainable building and shares the building process in detail from a builder’s perspective, while fully appreciating the architect’s role. He also explores how the natural tension between builder and architect can be used positively to bring out the best in a project.
