Passivhaus Series: 3. Building Services - London
The Green Register, WARM and Pollard Thomas Edwards are pleased to be working together to provide four half-day technical sessions in London on the Passivhaus principles.
Although the full Passivhaus training is a fantastic way to gain an in depth understanding of all aspects of Passivhaus design, some construction professionals may not have the time or resources to be able to attend the typical Passivhaus two week course.
These afternoon sessions offer insight into all the main principles i.e. what makes a good low energy, comfortable building based on the Passivhaus standard. The training is ideal for architects and other design professionals as the focus in these courses is on design principles. Each of the four sessions will be run by experts in the field.
Each of the four sessions will be run by experts in the field who are actually successfully designing/ building Passivhaus in UK. Amongst others, Bill Butcher, Alan Clarke, Sally Godber, Nick Grant, Eric Parks, Marine Sanchez, Mark Siddall; and Passivhaus Certifiers Will South, Mike Roe and Peter Warm. Assisted by Passivhaus Designers Tom Dollard and Lucy Pedler.
Event Three: Building Services, Marine Sanchez
This session will cover services for building designers, including space and layout requirements, simple service strategy and considerations.
About the trainer:
Marine is a Building Physics Engineer and a Passivhaus Designer at Green Tomato Energy, the company which led the two first certified Passivhaus retrofits in the UK, Lena Gardens and Princedale Road. She herself led the delivery of the first certified EnerPHit refurbishment project in London. She graduated with an MEng from the illustrious French Engineering School, Ecole Centrale de Nantes. She then went on to obtain an MSc from Oxford Brookes in Sustainable Building: Performance & Design. Since joining greentomatoenergy, Marine has worked on numerous low-energy new build and retrofit projects using her skills in thermal performance modelling tools such as PHPP, WUFI and THERM combined with practical site experience. She has also performed post-occupancy evaluations and energy audits to assess actual performance of buildings and in turn to provide feedback to improve the design stage of future projects.
